Welcome to Coach Crowhop's Baseball Camps.
This is our 15th season of bringing the finest baseball camp instruction in Houston. This claim can be made because of our camp coaches who coach in our area high schools. Crowhop Camp this spring will be March 17-19 and this summer from June 9-July 16 at Fort Bend area leagues. So come on out and "Have a Ball." Browse our website or call us at 281-778-6199 or 713-857-1849 or email us at crowhopcamps@yahoo.com Our Fax is:281-778-6199. Good luck in your league competition this spring.
Remember, seeing the ball (release, seam rotation, location) is the most important fundamental in hitting.
Coach Ted Harris
A Case for Camps
Camps are an excellent setting for instruction and learning the basics and intricacies of the game. The competition is slowed down and the learning and improvement is geared up. Of course, the reason you go out for baseball is for the competition and the games because that's where the fun is, but many times the instruction takes a back seat during the hectic schedule of the season. Camps slow the pace down where instead of preparing for the big game, skill improvement is emphasized. So, our goal is for every camper to leave the camp improved, with an increased appreciation for the game of baseball, and to enjoy stepping on the diamond.
Camp Philosophy
Fifteen years ago, longtime Ft.Bend area Coach Ted "Crowhop" Harris wanted to bring a premier baseball camp to the Ft. Bend area dedicated to teaching the game in a competitive, enjoyable atmosphere. CCBC now enjoys the reputation that nowhere in the Houston area can you receive better baseball camp instruction. Talk to previous campers and you will learn how their game improved and that they continue to use the coaching points and phrases learned in CCBC. Our desire is to teach an appreciation of the game and instill a desire to improve and work on their skills even "on a rainy day by themselves."
Why pay more and travel further when the best is right here in Ft. Bend?
The philosophy is simple: 1) Teach good, sound baseball emphasizing individual and team skills 2) Keep the player-coach teaching ratios low and manageable 3) Have fun doing it (most important)
SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION w/FT.BEND AREA HIGH SCHOOL COACHES
Coach Harris has assembled a dedicated staff consisting of AREA HIGH SCHOOL COACHES who enjoy working with younger players. Not only do these gentlemen know how to teach the game, but they also take pride instilling discipline within the team concept, while providing a positive mental approach towards the game of baseball. Coach Crowhop looks forward to you joining his enthusiastic staff. SO COME ON OUT AND HAVE A “BALL”!!
About the Camps:
The first day of summer camp will be an evaluation day to divide players by age & skill level as much as possible. Competitive drills, video evaluation, and awards will supplement the instruction underlying the philosophy of "make it fun." The remaining time will be spent on “World Series” games. Coach Crowhop’s Baseball Camps is designed to offer fundamental instruction to younger players, while offering advanced training to older more advanced players covering the physical and mental aspects of hitting, pitching, and catching as well as pitch selection and strength development. Pitchers’ arms will not be hampered for League play.
Major League Camp (Players 10-12 Yrs) Campers receive advanced instruction in pitching, catching, hitting, and defense/position skills.
AAA Camp (Players 8-9 Yrs) Campers receive training in offensive/defensive skills along with pitching, catching, and team skill training.
AA Camp (Players 6-7 Yrs) Campers receive fundamental instruction in hitting, throwing, fielding, and base running.
Rookie Camp (Players 5 Yrs) Campers receive basic training in throwing, catching, hitting and base running as well as instruction in terminology, positions and rules.
PONY/ PRE HIGH SCHOOL (Players 12 -14 Yrs) Working with Ft. Bend high school coaches, campers cover the strategies and skills that go with a 90' diamond including pickoffs, hit and run, 1st & 3rd, and bunting plays. Campers participate in a high school type practice situation.
